Rate of violence without injury per 1,000 people. Police recorded crime data are supplied to the Office for National Statistics (ONS) by the Home Office. Violence without injury includes police-recorded crimes of violence where there is no injury to the victim, including harassment, kidnapping, threats to kill and assaults without injury (common assault). This excludes public order and possession of weapons offences. The rate was calculated using the previous year’s population mid-year estimate. |
